Tait Real Estate’s Beth Tweedie is the first Northlander to take up the latest sponsorship option with the Northland Rescue Helicopter service.
She has signed a three-year ‘Grassroots Sponsorship’ which gives her the option of nominating an annual figure between $500 and $2499.
The highly respected Whangārei real estate agent is hoping her move will prompt other local businesspeople to join into the Grassroots whānau and help save lives.
“We all know how vital the Northland Rescue Helicopter is to the wellbeing and safety of locals and visitors to the North – we would be lost without it, so I encourage others to get on board with this amazing life-saving cause.
“I see the Grassroots Sponsorship as an affordable way for businesses and individuals to pay it forward and help others in their hour of need,” says Beth.
Northland Rescue Helicopter Fundraising and Marketing Manager Jan Hewitt says Grassroots sponsors are invited to participate events like sponsor/ambassador thank you lunches and will receive a personalised framed image (sponsored by Fujifilm) for their business.
“We have launched the Grassroots Sponsorship specifically because Northland has such a high proportion of SME’s and after working with a lot of our current sponsors and supporters it was widely agreed that the $500 to $2499 range puts sponsorship within reach of a lot of Northlanders,” says Jan.
“Beth has given up her time to help out with numerous rescue chopper events, so we are really pleased to have her on board.”
“I would encourage people to sign up because together we can make a real difference by helping out with the operating costs of our Northland Rescue Helicopters,” says Beth.
Growing up on farms and orchards in Northland has given Beth an appreciation of the need for the service in rural Northland.
“Living rurally, I see and hear our rescue choppers regularly and recognise that they are on route to help someone when they most need urgent specialist care. To me it is peace of mind knowing they are here for us day and night,” says Beth.
Never one to shy away from her Red Bands, when not dedicating her time to clients, Beth is knee-deep in farm work and hanging out with her dogs. She is also actively engaged in her community through supporting numerous animal charities, local schools and causes.
