School
Visits
Give us a
call and we will organise for one of our pilots and our Schools
coordinator, Sue Beehre to come to your classroom and talk to you about
the Northland Electricity Helicopter. Alternatively, you can set up a time
to come and visit us at the St John base in Kensington. “I
am writing on behalf of the junior children and staff of Camp Quality to
express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the fantastic and most
informative talk you gave on the history of the Northland rescue
helicopter as I think everyone totally enjoyed it and I know we had a
quiet trip home with all the children doing the activity books.” –
Sean Walton, Camp Quality New Zealand Inc

your visit, we will do some of the following:-
-
Demonstrate our winching and
safety equipment

Explain what happens during an
emergency
-
Answer your questions about the
helicopter
-
Show you the instument panels and
GPS
-
Give you the opportunity to sit inside the
cockpit

Take your photo with the helicopter and
pilots on duty

“Thanks
so much for letting us come to visit your place. We all really enjoyed
the trip and learnt a lot about rescue services…The children were very
glad to be able to get inside the ambulance and Helimed 1. This sort of
learning is always effective and creates memories for them.” –
Mrs J. Whitlam, Whangarei Adventist School
“Thank
you so much for coming into our classroom last term to tell us about the
Northland Electricity Helicopter, and your role as a pilot in attending
challenge and crises situations…we all enjoyed hearing your
interesting stories.
We
thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the pilot’s gear, and looking at the
pictures showing the helicopter in action. Thank you for answering all
our questions – you were awesome.
Many
of our classmates are wearing the caps and t-shirts that you gave us,
even though Miss Bonetti wanted to keep them all for herself!!!” Room 18, Whangarei Intermediate School.
If you
would like to organise a school visit to our hangar in Kensington or
have one of our staff come out and talk to your class or group, please
